P.M.V. - Personal Mobility Vehicle.

Let me first say that I had a wonderful time on vacation last week. Kurtis and I spent 5 days camping down at Mt. Pleasant at the Old Threshers Reunion...and it was just great!!

I have but one complaint.....and that is about the damn P.M.V's....which stands for Personal Mobility Vehicle for those of you who havent confronted this issue yet. I would assume if you havent, its because you have not gone to the Iowa State Fair or any other event which involves lots of people and a large area that needs to be traversed! I was a little put out when I booked our camping site a few months ago when I asked if it would be ok for us to take our Mule (Kawasaki, not 4 legged) as I have a "foot condition" that tends to get bad if I try to stand and walk all day.....and the answer was a immediate "No, we only allow P.M.V's on the grounds. So, I didn't think too much about it.....untill the show.....and then it came flooding back to me,,,, and the horrible experience I had at the Iowa State Fair last year! Apparently, if you can eat yourself into oblivian, push your weight up to 3-400 lbs and become completely inantimate..you automatically qualify for medicare to buy you a damn P.M.V. Let me tell you, it appears to be al all out epedemic!!! Everywhere you turn, every door you try to go through, every food line (especially) is clogged up with some huge person sitting on a scooter! I especially find it convenient that they all come equipped with a nice large basket on the front to hold all of those essential personal items such as ding dongs, chips, a "Big Gulp Soda" and a fanny pack that just wont quite reach around the fanny anymore! Now, don't get me wrong..I have my work cut out for me in the weight department too.....but come on! The next time I see a commercial for the damn Hover-round...and the famous line they use..."And it didn't cost me a dime!!!", it may be all I can take, and physical harm may come to the TV. And they wouldn't let me take my Mule.....huh! What a rip!
Now, that I got that out of my system..We really did have a great time! I am so heartbroke that I forgot to take a picture of my camper and all the great necessities we had set up at our site. Kurtis bought me a "Jackite" of the Snow Goose that we proudly had out front. For those of you not familiar with "Camping Silliness" the trendy thing to do is put a bird on a 30 foot pole which catches the wind and appear to be flying about your camper.....now just quite smirking...when it comes to camping its all about being an individual, no matter how silly. There was around 1400 campers on 80 acres, so you have to strive to be different! I was also flying our american flag and some lawn ornament flowers made out of plumbing fixtures.......yep, plumbing fixtures! Man, I really blew it not getting a nice picture..you would of all been so impressed!!
So, now its back to work and the routine...until next time....happy camping!

This entry is beyond hilarious with the p.m.v.'s.
Also I understand the camp site decor. It is a necessity (as are my fish lights that I have to hang and the Baker's sign that my Grandpa made me)
