It's not entirely all my fault!

I have been trying to update my blog now for about 3-4 days, but the blog site has been down....so even though I know it has been some time....I did at least make an attempt at getting it done!

This has been a summer for the books! Sometimes you feel like you're on a merry go round and can't get off! Kurtis lost his father last Sunday, August 20th. It just seems surreal that both of his parents are gone now and in such a short period of time. I feel so bad for him and can't imagine how rotton the whole situation must feel.

But, on to good things. We are on vacation! We are spending 6 days down at the old Threshers reunion in Mt. Pleasant. I'm hoping for alot of good conversationa and relaxation. This is the first time we have gone that we didn't have horses to wrestle with, so should be less stressful. Hope to get in some good antiquing and BBQ-ing. We have several friends coming down to meet us down there, so should be a good time.
Take care, untill next time....MOM
Now, is this precious or what! Little girl watching a cardinal game with her dad...I see a cute little tom boy in the future, what do you think!

Richard, you were quite a character..and we are going to miss you. 16th Avenue Houby days wont quite be the same...

It's not that I don't have anything to talk about....quite the contrary...

I just dont seem to get any time to sit in front of this computer....I spend almost every evening outside in the garden or flower beds till after dark..

It's pretty much known now that I get my entertainment from gardening instead of sharing time with my husband....I have become a Scheels divorce'. I'm being pretty tolerable about the situation for now, as a matter of fact the reason I am finally updating this blog is because Kurtis finally got home from work about 7:30 and is now down in his chair going over a gun order he has to place tomorrow.....shall I say...."Borrrring"! But, I'm being good and leaving him alone.
Richard is doing really poorly. Kurtis went over about 6 this morning to help move him and give him morphine..the situation seems to be deteriorating quite quickly. I feel so bad for Kurtis, what a raw deal to lose both parents inside of 6 months or so. The hospice nurses dont think he will be able to fight the battle too much longer, he is in such pain with the cancer that morphine seems to be the only thing to relieve the pain. Enjoy every day!!! You never know what is around the corner.
So, on a happy note....my gardens are doing OK, some disapointments and some success's, which I guess gardening is all about. The 70 mph winds the other night smashed my broom corn, twisted my sunflowers and tramped over my Brugmansia....but, oh well, next year is another season...and on it goes.
Hope all is well, now its off to switch the wash, load the dishwasher.....and maybe sit on my a___ a few minutes before heading off to bed. See, isnt my life exciting!
Until next time.....MOM

Is this wonderful or what. This picture was taken (after dark) at Steve's Hooverfest party...For a guy that didnt have any kids of his own....the ole boy seems to have a natural knack don't ya think? This is little Ellie at about 6 weeks old.
